I got an opportunity to review DAEMON Tools Pro Standard version 5.1.0.0333
The interface is very clean, refreshing and compatible with modern Windows visualization. The icons are smooth. See the pick below:
DAEMON Tools Pro Standard is a very useful tool for creating images for our CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs. Thereby, we could work with the images and save the original discs from scratches. It supports a wide range of image formats such as *.b5t, *.b6t, *.bwt, *.ccd, *.cdi, *.bin/*.cue, *.ape/*.cue, *.flac/*.cue, *.iso, *.isz, *.mds/*.mdf, *.mdx, *.nrg
Moreover the images created could be compressed as well as password protected to prevent unwanted use. See below:
Once you have the images you could mount the same using the emulated virtual drives. There could be up to 16 such DT and SCSI devices in all.
Let me mention about Automount feature which allows you to mount images automatically after system reboot. This is very essential while working with Operating System installations which require a reboot to complete the installation process.
It supports 39 different languages and is Multi-lingual.
The DAEMON Tools (DT) Agent runs from the system tray and provides quick access.
You could choose which image files to associate DAEMON Tools with. Once associated you could mount images with double-click from Windows Explorer. Moreover, Shell Extensions functionality provides handy access to main program features via Windows Explorer context menu. Also you could customize the Windows Explorer context menu for images and virtual devices from Tools>Preferences>Integration option.
Another great feature is the Portable mode which allows you to run DAEMON Tools from your HDD, flash drive, etc. without having installing it.
The DAEMON Tools “Burn Image” feature could burn all supported image types to CD/DVD/Blu-ray discs. You could also select to use ‘Finalize’ option to make the disc unable to add sessions later on. On the other hand you could also burn multisession discs with PickUp Data feature. It could also be used to perform quick and full erasing of rewritable discs.
The “Edit Image” option is yet another useful feature to quickly edit our image files. It could also be used to extract the data from images without having to burn or even mount them. See below:
I would alert the users to be aware of the Hotspot Shield installation and sharing Mount Space statistics which are included in the software. However, you could opt out of them during installation.
An offline help would be very appreciated as it would remove the need of internet should in case of any help is required.
