Proven by More Users
WinUtilities is the top 5 downloaded software in Maintenance & Optimization category and has over 10 million users worldwide.
I use to love this program back in the Windows XP® days, but when I switched to Windows Vista® the program seemed a bit outdated compared to others I’ve used since. The current version of WinUtilities ® is much cleaner in its layout and a lot faster than it used to be taking only 3 minutes to scan and repair my test system using the 1-click option.
The real gem in this software is the modules layout, allowing you to take control of virtually every aspect of your system with minimal fuss.

You can also schedule a few tasks such as HDD defrag and Registry cleaning.
I do wish it had an option for scheduling a Registry backup and Auto-Shutdown under the Scheduling Tab but the four choices available are great for novice users.
Probably my favorite new addition (for me at least it’s new) is the Status tab. Here you can not only see if the program is up to date but also see which version of each module you have installed and whether or not they are up to date, your User ID (registered version only), the License type and when your current license expires.
This is definitely a program you will want to add to your arsenal of System Maintenance applications. WinUtilities has a very small system footprint using less than 5 MB of RAM and just a bit over 3% of the CPU while doing a full system scan. As an added bonus you can also password protect system processes, most documents (I found a few LibreOffice files it had trouble with), and your program .exe files. Perfect for those of us who may be paranoid about Big Brother snooping on our system or for keeping “curious” users out of files they don’t belong in or shouldn’t be using.
The one caveat I have about this Software Developer is the use of an Awards listing that is essentially bogus.
The most current mention of this program on PC World® is from 2009 in which they reviewed WinUtilities but there was no mention of an award. C|Net® and PC Magazine® had no listings at all for WinUtilities. Top 10 Reviews® however did have a listing for the previous version of WinUtilities in which it rated the program an 8.13/10 and placed it as #10 in its Top 10 System Utilities . I guess this is just a pet peeve of mine but I believe that if you’re going to list awards for your product(s) then they should be easily found (i.e. the Award image should be linked to the actual award review) and be for the current version of the product(s).
That being said, I would still recommend this program to my family and friends to use either in place of or alongside their current System Maintenance program(s).
