[Contest] TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4

| April 20, 2013

TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 is a re-encoding program that can re-encode videos to different formats without little to no loss in quality. It allows you to cut, split and join clips with minimum re-encoding. It uses their smart renderer to help minimize the re-encoding and helps on keeping a no loss in quality.

TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 also takes you step by step with options to edit the settings while you are moving through the steps. It provides you the tools to add the videos and edit what you want it to render without much need of tinkering but if you do, it is easy to tinker through the options without much need going to the settings.

TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 starts you up with the project selection and if you have recently done a project you can reselect the project easily. You can also edit the advanced tools were you can customize the MPEG Structure, project checker tool and proxy file. The preference is your settings which lets you change up to what folders to output and use for temporary files. The preference also allows you to see and change the scene change detection, clip default settings, how TMPGEnc Video Mastering Works 5 uses the CPU and GPU, the formats, etc.

When starting a project, you get to choose from where to select the clip/s, you have several options from files, from a DVD, BD, HDD Camcorder, etc., from a stream file, recorded TV program and much more. If you are adding many clips you can skip the clip addition and edit those later after all are inputted to the program. If only one you are introduced to the clip addition where you can edit the properties of the clip, cut-edit, and add filters. After configuring the video you are able to insert more files, add a slide show, and edit the other clips.

TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 lets you cut clips of the source if in case there is a section that you don’t want to include, or if you want to join a clip to make it one TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 makes it easy to change that up with the menu which shows you a timline with each frame which you can cut filter, etc. When maneuvering through the clips, it is easy to move around the frames and quite easy to view what you don’t want to include or delete and works quite easy and fast. You won’t be taking too much time waiting for it to render. You are also able to insert text to the video if in case you are presenting or want a text to show up on the clip.

When you have finished making sure the clip is the way you want it you enter to the next step where you choose the format output which lets you choose the way it outputs the video, the output target which is the type of format it will convert to, the audio and video settings which you can change the aspect ratio, video quality, performance, etc.

Once you set up the output you can select the name of the output, or leave it as selected and then start output. If in case you want to see how it will come out you can select the preview which will pop up its own player to show you how the output would come out to see those changes that you did. The smart rendering is quick which you won’t really have to wait for TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 to render the clips and be able to vie them, burn them using TMPGEnc Authoring Works 5 to DVD/BD, etc.

Thoughts and Conclusion

TMPGEnc MPEG Smart Renderer 4 is a very easy to use and fast renderer program which there’s no loss in quality of the output. There’s enough to edit the clips and make sure that they come out to what you want and make sure that they are cut, filtered or you can add transitions or titles to the video. Your videos would come out to look as close to if a professional did it. I would recommend giving it a try at tmpgenc.pegasys-inc.com/.
