I bought new hard disk Western Digital WD10EZEX (Guests cannot see links. Registration or Login is required.
). Some reason Windows XP does not see it in Device Manager. But in the BIOS see. Do you know why? May be due to the size of the cluster... have to install Windows 7 or 8?!

Try on Disk Management (like Guests cannot see links. Registration or Login is required.
) if you see the disk, maybe you must assign it a drive letter.

Sorry, I realized that you did not see the disk from "My Computer" (my XP is not in english). Then seems to be a driver problem.
Before leaving forever XP I would do a backup of the system, then completely uninstall the SATA controller driver from "Device Manager", and after, reboot.

P.S. Remember: first of all backup!
