[Weekly game contest] Fallout !

| October 15, 2011

Fallout is a classic, revolutionary, role-playing game released September 30, 1997 by Interplay and Black Isle Studios. Fallout takes place in a post-nuclear war world. Some humans were able to survive by staying in underground vaults. When a problem arises in your character’s vault, you must take your character above ground to search for a broken water recycler chip.

When above ground, your character will face opponents including mutants, gangs, and many other creatures. You’ll also interact with other characters who may give you quests or a specific task to complete. Completing these quests or tasks will make your character gain experience points. Your character’s choices and actions can help decide the ending of the game.
The combat in Fallout is turn-based with character level progression. Fallout has a wide variety of weapons and items to choose from when battling enemies and you gain experience as well as skill points for defeating those enemies and completing quests and tasks. You can also have NPC’s join your party to help you in your quests. Another unique aspect of Fallout is Karma. You can determine the demeanor of you character whether good or bad depending on your actions.
Overall Fallout is the first RPG in a great series of Fallout games. A unique storyline, immersive world, and defined gameplay make this a must-have for fans of RPG’s.
